Illustration of the Peg Solitaire game
  1. The cross-shaped board starts full, with the center hole empty.
  2. Tap a peg that has a neighbor and an empty hole right after it, horizontally or vertically.
  3. Tap the destination hole: the peg jumps, and the jumped peg is removed from the board.
  4. Keep jumping. The goal is to end with just one peg and, if you can, exactly in the center.

Controls by input type

  • Mouse/touch: tap the peg (the ones that can jump are highlighted), then the destination hole.
  • Keyboard: use Tab to move through the holes and Enter or Space to select the peg and the destination. Use "Undo" to take back a move.

Tips

  • Avoid leaving pegs stranded in the corners; they tend to be the ones left over at the end.
  • Work from the outside in, "pulling" the pegs toward the center.
  • If you get stuck, use "Undo" and try a different order of jumps.
